TDMRC received a visit from Otago University, New Zealand

Banda Aceh – TDMRC Universitas Syiah Kuala (USK) received a visit from guests representing Otago University, New Zealand, and Pusan National University, South Korea who were welcomed directly by TDMRC’s director, Prof. Dr. Syamsidik, and several cluster coordinators, including:
1. Dr. Rina Suryani Oktari
2. Alfi Rahman, PhD
3. Rizanna Rosemary, PhD
4. Haekal Azief Haridhi, PhD
5. Dr. Ichsan

The purpose of this visit is to introduce and discuss potential collaborations between academic teams and researchers from various universities in South Korea under the coordination of Prof. Dr. SungYong Lee.

Representatives from the Master of Disaster Science (MIM) and the International Center for Aceh and Indian Ocean Studies (ICAIOS) were also present, as they are currently initiating the opening of a master’s program in Conflict and Peace Studies under the Graduate Program (PPS) of USK.

Prof. Dr. SungYong Lee expressed his interest in collaborating with all parties in Aceh to support their 10-year research program with the theme “Living with Slow Disaster.”
