Aceh Besar – FASTANA-TDMRC Universitas Syiah Kuala, held Fastana Action for Ecosystem based Economic Development. This activity is one of a series of Ormawa Capacity Building Programs (P2K ORMAWA) held in Gampong Kajjhu, Baitussalama District, Aceh Besar Regency. This program aims to provide insight and knowledge to the people of Gampong Kajhu about the use of mangrove plants as a source of raw materials in making products with selling value. This program was attended by all members of the Gampong Kajhu P2K Driving Team. This activity contains socialization about the introduction of mangrove coastal ecosystems around our environment. Furthermore, there is socialization about the manufacture of various processed products with high selling value derived from mangrove plants.
On this occasion, the mothers of P2K mobilizers were very enthusiastic in listening to the material presented. This is because many mothers have just learned that mangroves have many different types, and can be made into a variety of products such as syrup, jam, and various cakes made from mangrove flour. Mrs. Jasmi, S.Pd, as the head of the PKK mothers’ Mobilization, said in her opening remarks at the beginning of the event that the material presented by FASTANA was very interesting, considering that there are so many mangrove plants on the coast of Gampong Kajhu that have not been used. So far, the mothers who are here only know that mangroves serve to protect the coast from tsunamis, she said. Hasnan Hanif as the head of the ORMAWA P2K group also added that there is great potential and benefits from the coast of Gampong Kajhu. Where if hundreds of mangrove plants bear fruit, of course, it can provide great economic benefits, where if we search the internet, the market price of 1 Kg of mangrove flour costs 150-200 thousand. This can certainly be a motivation for the community to take advantage of the existing potential.
This activity received the full support of various parties, one of which was the Kajhu Village Keuchik, which provided facilities for the Kajhu Indah Hamlet Hall. The interesting thing and needs to be appreciated from this activity is the great enthusiasm of the PKK driving team, even though the weather is bad and heavy rain, these mothers who are no longer young still come and enliven the socialization event that we held. 
At the end of the event, it was closed with a question and answer session and a group photo session which was attended by all PKK driving teams and the P2K Ormawa FASTANA-TDMRC team. Furthermore, FASTANA will hold a cake cooking demo program with the PKK driving team the next day (10/16/2022).
