In its discussion, each aspect aims to evaluate the recovery process after the 20th Anniversary of the Aceh Tsunami, especially in the Banda Aceh City and Aceh Besar Districts. Both areas were significantly affected by the 2004 tsunami. In the evaluation process, TDMRC invited nearly 50 resource persons from various backgrounds, ranging from the local government sector, such as the Regional Development Planning Agency (BAPPEDA), Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD), related agencies, village officials, practitioners, and institutions active in the scope of disaster that represent each region.

The results of this study will be outlined in an international article. Of course, these results can also be used as material for consideration to formulate or update recommendations and strategies in the context of disaster mitigation, especially in Aceh Province. This activity is part of a series of activities to commemorate the 20th anniversary of the Aceh Tsunami. A similar activity was held in West Aceh District on July 16, 2024 (here).
