On Friday, June 21, 2024, the Tsunami and Disaster Mitigation Research Center (TDMRC) of Syiah Kuala University received a visit from the National Disaster Management Agency (BNPB) team. The BNPB team was led by the Deputy of Prevention of BNPB, Mrs. Dra. Prasinta Dewi, M.A.P, and staff Herman Hidayat, Meilina Wulandari, and Iis Yulianti. Accompanying the BNPB team, BPBA Aceh also participated in the visit, namely the Head of BPBA Preparedness Section, Fazli, SKM, M.Kes.
On this occasion, the BNPB team was received directly by the Director of TDMRC, Prof. Dr. Syamsidik, M.Sc, and Deputy Director of TDMRC, Prof. Dr. Muksin, M.Si., M.Phil, in the TDMRC meeting room. In the warm meeting, the Director and Deputy Director of TDMRC explained about TDMRC USK institutions, work areas, achievements, and TDMRC partners. In particular, the agenda of TDMRC activities related to the 20th anniversary of the Aceh tsunami was also conveyed.
In response, the Deputy for Prevention of BNPB, Dra. Prasinta Dewi, M.A.P welcomed the 20th anniversary of the Aceh tsunami. She also said the deputy is initiating several major activities to prevent BNPB. Among them is an international seminar commemorating DRR Month, creating a village-based disaster prevention plan map (scale 1:5000), and preparing disaster-resilient villages. Especially for disaster-resilient villages, he hoped that later, these villages could be used as places for disaster thematic KKN. In addition, he also advised TDMRC to continue to coordinate and synergise with BNPB in carrying out activities that are beneficial to the community, such as national-international seminars and studies that are applicable.

BNPB visits Shaking Table
