A team of researchers from the Tsunami and Disaster Mitigation Research Center (TDMRC) attended the kick-off meeting for the Review of Disaster Risk Assessment (KRB) Documents of Nagan Raya Regency for 2024-2029 on Tuesday, May 15, 2024. The event, which was held at the Bappeda Hall of Nagan Raya Regency, was attended and opened by the Assistant for Economic Affairs of Nagan Raya Regency and also attended by the Head of Bappeda of Nagan Raya Regency, Mr Edy Purba (BNPB Representative), Regional Work Units (SKPD), academics, and NGOs within Nagan Raya Regency. The research team from TDMRC, who acted as resource persons, was led by TDMRC Director Prof. Dr. Syamsidik, ST., M.Sc, Dr. (Cand) Dedy Alfian, Rifqan, S.Si. MT, Aulia Khalqillah, S.Si, M.Si, Ikramullah Zein, ST. M.Sc, and Hayyan Alghifary Armaya, ST. In his presentation, Mr. Edy Purba (BNPB representative) emphasised that the KRB document is one of the mandatory regional documents directed by the President of the Republic of Indonesia in the last National Coordination Meeting on Disaster Management.
In addition, disaster management is a mandatory regional affair mandated in Law Number 23 of 2014 concerning Regional Government, Government Regulation Number 2 of 2018 concerning Minimum Service Standards, and Minister of Home Affairs Regulation Number 101 of 2018 concerning Technical Standards for Basic Services at the Minimum Service Standards for Regency / City Regional Disaster Sub Affairs. In addition to obtaining input and opinions from various parties about challenges, data availability, and potential disasters in Nagan Raya Regency, the Government of Nagan Raya Regency and the TDMRC research team as the compiler of the Disaster Risk Assessment (KRB) of Nagan Raya Regency Year 2024-2029, were asked to follow 12 stages in the preparation of the Disaster Prone Assessment (KRB).
