Banda Aceh – The research team from TDMRC USK had an audience with the Acting. The new Acting Head of BPBA Aceh Province, Mr. Fadmi Ridwan, SP, MA on Monday, February 19, 2024. The research team, led by TDMRC Director Prof. Dr. Syamsidik, was also joined by research team members consisting of Dr. Ichsan, M.Sc., Sp.KKLP., Dr. Teuku Alvisyahrin, Dr. Haekal A Haridhi, Dr. Alfi Rahman, and Dr. Muhammad Dirhamsyah. The audience was not only aimed at establishing friendship with the new Acting. BPBA’s new Acting Head was also to coordinate and synchronise activities to commemorate the 20th anniversary of the Aceh tsunami between TDMRC USK and BPBA Aceh Province.

During the hearing, the Director of TDMRC conveyed a series of activities that TDMRC will carry out to implement the 20th anniversary of the Aceh tsunami. These activities include recovery assessment after 20 years of the tsunami, seminar series, AIWEST-DR 2024 international conference, writing a book on 20 years of the Aceh tsunami, and writing a graphic info book on Aceh after 20 years of the tsunami.
On the same occasion, the BPBA Chief Executive Mr. Fadmi Ridwan, SP, MA, who was accompanied by the Head of Prevention and Preparedness Bobby Syaputra, SE, M.Si, also conveyed several important agendas to be implemented by BPBA, including the commemoration of Disaster Risk Reduction Month (DRR), assessment of evacuation signs, and a series of activities to commemorate the 20th anniversary of the Aceh tsunami. Therefore, the BPBA Chief Executive welcomed the hearing and will schedule periodic meetings and invite the participation of other parties so that the implementation of the 20th anniversary of the Aceh tsunami can be carried out smoothly and successfully.
