DSC 2026 is a disaster education program that focuses on the theme “Science and Education for Hydrometeorological Disaster Risk Resilience.” The program will involve four schools from Banda Aceh, four schools from Aceh Besar, and several schools located in areas affected by the 2025 floods in Aceh.

During the meeting, TDMRC USK and BMKG discussed the activity plan, the development of meteorological and climatological education materials, and potential BMKG support to improve students’ understanding of hydrometeorological disaster risks.

This collaboration is expected to promote more contextual and accessible disaster education for students. Through DSC 2026, participants will not only learn about disasters but also better understand weather and climate information, early warning systems, and preparedness measures in schools and communities.
