
Banda Aceh, February 12, 2025 – The researchers of RISPRO SupeRISKA TDMRC USK held a write shop to finalize the book titled Introduction to Disaster Risk Financing and Insurance Models. This book is one of the mandatory outputs of the third-year RISPRO SupeRISKA program, aimed at contributing to the development of policies and strategies related to disaster risk management in Indonesia.
The book is authored by a team of researchers from TDMRC USK, including Prof. Syamsidik, Prof. Nazamuddin, Prof. Heru Fahlevi, Dr. Syafruddim Chan, Dr. Yunita Idris, Adrian Ulza, M.Sc., and Aulia Khalqillah, M.Si. In addition to being an indicator of research performance, this book aims to provide a comprehensive understanding of disaster impacts, disaster risks and losses, and the fundamental principles of building financing models, as well as disaster risk-based insurance.
The content of the book covers essential topics, including an overview of disasters and their impacts, analysis of risks and losses caused by disasters, and the foundational principles for developing financing models that can mitigate disaster losses. The book also explores the basic concepts of disaster risk-based insurance that can be applied to protect state-owned assets.
It is hoped that this book will not only provide insights for academics and practitioners but also serve as a useful reference for policymakers in designing more effective and efficient disaster financing and insurance strategies. In this way, the book will play an important role in supporting better disaster risk management in Indonesia.
