Kick-off meeting Preparation of Disaster Management Plan (RPB) Aceh Jaya District 2024-2029

ry of Aceh Jaya District, was attended and opened by Pj. Asy’ari Musa, SE, M.Si, and was also attended by the Assistant for Government and People’s Welfare, Assistant for General Administration, Chief Executive of BPBK Aceh Jaya District, Chief of Aceh Jaya Police, Regional Work Units (SKPD), sub-district heads, academics, and NGOs within Aceh Jaya District.

The research team from TDMRC who acted as resource persons were led by TDMRC Director Prof. Dr. Syamsidik, ST, M.Sc, Dr. Yunita Idris, M.Sc.Struct, Dr. (Cand) Dedy Alfian, M.Sc, Arifullah, S.Si, M.Si, Ikhwan Amri, M.Si, and Eka Oktavianus, M.Si.

In his remarks, the Director of TDMRC said that the preparation of the Aceh Jaya District Disaster Management Plan (RPB) 2024-2029 document was a concrete form of cooperation between the Aceh Jaya District Government and Syiah Kuala University. Therefore, this RPB document is expected to be a reference document for all parties, especially the Aceh Jaya District Government in formulating disaster-based policies in Aceh Jaya.

Meanwhile, Pj. Regional Secretary of Aceh Jaya District in his speech said that the RPB document that is being prepared can accommodate disaster events in Aceh Jaya District. The disasters that often occur are: floods, landslides, droughts, and forest and land fires. In addition, the Pj. Regional Secretary of Aceh Jaya District also said that the main obstacle in disaster management in Aceh Jaya is the availability of adequate equipment. Due to the limited equipment, the district government often seems slow in handling disasters. Therefore, this RPB document needs input from the parties, so that it can become a guide and policy strategy in disaster management in Aceh Jaya.
