Banda Aceh – On March 15, 2024, a meeting was held to develop a Book of Graphics to commemorate the 20th anniversary of the 2004 Aceh Tsunami. The meeting aimed to design the beginning, outline, and design of the book that will witness Aceh’s journey two decades after the disaster.

Preliminary Draft Design

This activity was led by Ismiatul Ramadhian Nur, ST, M.Si, Tursina, and involved other committee members. The book will be specially designed with concise visual and graphic displays to illustrate Aceh’s journey in the two decades after the tsunami. It will highlight the achievements, challenges and inspiring stories of the resilient people of Aceh in rebuilding their lives.

The objectives of the Book of Graphics are wide-ranging, including memorializing history, raising public awareness, inspiring, modeling, educating on disaster mitigation, and improving visual literacy. It is hoped that this book will provide a better understanding to the public with a target audience that spans every generation.

The public and readers are expected to follow further developments regarding this project through various communication channels that will be announced later.
